Because of her age and also knowing that she was barren. After having the promise son Isaac Abraham had to trust God. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was old. Abraham was a man of obedience to God. His faith was tested when God said” take now your son, your only son Isaac whom you love go to land of Moriah”. Offer him as a burnt offering for which I tell you. And Abraham build an altered and laid his son bound upon the wood. Abraham had enough faith to believe God and said God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering. God is always on times but remember sometimes it only a test.
